Winter Leagues are up and going at Fernley’s Frontier Fun Center (FFC). According to FFC League and Event Coordinator, Jeffrey Lundlee, “Ten Leagues have formed. However, there is still room for additional league sign-ups. Our current leagues are: Monday Night Mixes, Alley Katz, Tuesday Tuffness, Wednesday Night Mixers, the Rotary League, Bowling Gals, TGIF, Saturday Adult/Junior, Sunday Night Mixers, and the Moose Mix (a closed league).”

Lundlee reports that on Saturday, September 15, the Ladies 500 Club went into action, with the following results: (Top bowlers in each category) Classic Division - Kay Pena/Nancy Bloom 1568; A Division – Teresa/James Ridgley 1588; B Division – Nancy/Chris Marvel 1526; C Division – Sue Menoher/Charlie Varnum 1519; D Division – Marietta Thomsen/Alene Sobrero 1256.

“Throughout the past week, there were several great bowling highlights at FFC,” stated Fernley resident and bowling enthusiast Tom Lacey, “Fernley resident Marty Reese bowled 100 over average and received a commemorative watch from the USBC! Rex Bank, also a Fernley Resident, managed a difficult 7-10 split. And a young bowler (James Vershum) from Carson City managed 9 strikes during his first visit to FFC, bowling a 267.”

“Plus,” Lacey continued, “FFC just had their second sanctioned 300 game. J.R. Smith, of Fernley, reached this bowling milestone on September 13th.” A bowler for the last forty- six years, J.R. is a member of the FFC Wednesday night Mixer. He and his wife, Aggie, have been residents of Fernley for 18 years. Congratulations!
